The Solar Process

1

Initial Consultation

During the initial consultation, the reasons for installing solar are discussed. Questions are addressed and the style of system that best suits the needs would be presented with pros and cons of each scenario.

2

Site Survey

A site survey is conducted to determine if the site is suitable for solar. Unfortunately, not every site meets the criteria for a good solar location. This may be due to position in relation to the sun, shading, or geographical features, etc. The survey will determine the best location for the PV system.

Key Considerations:

  • Best Locations: South facing orientations
  • Shading Analysis: Determine elements that could shade the PV system
  • Roof Assessment: Age and shape considerations for roof-mounted systems
  • Ground Mount: Geographical composition evaluation
  • Electrical Panels: Size and location considerations
3

Design and Pricing

After completing the site survey, all information will be compiled for a system design that best meets the needs for the site. In addition to design, a cost analysis will be developed and presented.

4

Final Consultation

A final meeting is scheduled to present the custom designed system and cost analysis. This meeting will aid in making a final decision and answering any additional questions or concerns regarding costs and design elements. Any federal, state, or local incentives that may be available will be discussed at the time of the final meeting.

Solar Incentives

Federal, state, or local incentives may be available for residents and businesses who want to pursue PV systems. These programs can offset the costs through direct funding or tax credits. Program qualifications vary and expire.

Types of Incentives

  • Direct Funding Programs
  • Tax Credit Programs
  • Rebate Programs
  • Local/State Programs

Important Notes

  • Qualifications vary by program
  • Programs expire and change
  • Consult with your PV representative
  • Consult with a CPA on incentives

⚠️ Recommendation: It is recommended that all potential applicants for these incentive programs check and consult with a Certified Public Accountant on all available programs to maximize your savings and ensure tax compliance.
